A security token service implements the protocol defined according to the WS-Trust specification. WS-Trust specification defines message formats and message exchange patterns for issuing, renewing, canceling and validating security tokens. Once client is authenticated using Kerberos protocol against STS, client will get a security token. The token is signed using STS's private key.
